Background
Chef & Owner Heather Greenwood, ironically enough cut her teeth learning to make donuts in Deadhorse, Alaska. While working on the north slope she was able to save up enough money to build out her Donut food truck: Idoughknow. The truck was received so warmly and was a great success. From there Heather teamed up with a partner to open a small restaurant in Palmer focusing on locally sourced and inspired food. After 3 years in the restaurant, a revival was imperative to move forward.
Enter: Dead Horse Donuts, the revival.
We are excited to return to the donut scene with a new space, new experience, and the same will to succeed and provide the community with the best product possible, as always.
Provisions
Scratch Made Donuts
All of our donuts, glazes and fillings are made from scratch with the best ingredients we can source. Many of our flavors are inspired by locally sourced Alaskan ingredients
Our Products do not contain preservatives, and we recommend eating them ASAP. (within 24hrs) We recommend heating each donut in the microwave for 12 seconds before consuming. (we are serious, you better!)
Artisan Coffee & Tea
We source our beans from Dead Hopper Roastery in Talkeetna. All of our specialty flavors are made from scratch in house.
